I'm grateful for today though it started out with just a little wick which was not lit
great, powerful, positive energy created a flame so quick and early to calm the nervous itch
new friends, new perspectives, new hopes: patience, passion, and peace
a teacher's insight, a mentor's guidance
my hero remembered, many signs give
fuel to this once little wick which was not lit
but with steps forward and people
with fire to share and energy to burn, my wick stayed lit throughout this day
now it's night and this fire will keep me warm
gratitude for today, tomorrow, and for all those who light our wicks
